An action packaged Gameweek 5 brought plenty of discussion points in the early part of the Premier League season. Despite defending resiliently, Arsenal were cruelly denied a vital win at Man City when John Stones netted deep into added time. Chelsea and Liverpool both won comfortably, with wins also for Fulham, Spurs and Aston Villa. Forest and Brighton played out a high-tempered draw, with Danny Welbeck’s freekick amongst the pick of the goals.

Read on for the Premier League highlights and TOCA Social’s round up of the weekend’s action!

Man City v Arsenal Highlights

It was heartbreak for Arsenal in a blockbuster clash against Man City at the Etihad Stadium. Haaland gave City the lead, calmly slotting past David Raya, but Arsenal soon replied with a stunning goal from new signing Riccardo Calafiori. The visitors took the lead on the stroke of halftime with Gabriel heading home, but were soon reduced to 10 men when Leandro Trossard was sent off for kicking the ball away. Arsenal held firm throughout the second half but City found a way through when John Stones scored a dramatic equaliser in the 98th minute.

The Champions travel to Newcastle at Saturday lunchtime. Catch all the action at TOCA Social.

Man City v Arsenal Highlights

Brighton v Nottingham Forest Highlights

Brighton and Forest shared the spoils in a fiery clash at the AMEX Stadium which saw both managers sent to the stands. The visitors took the lead in the 13th minute through a Chris Wood penalty after a clumsy challenge on Hudson-Odoi in the box. Brighton equalised through Jack Hinshelwood and took the lead soon after from a superb Danny Welbeck freekick. However, Ramón Sosa popped up to maintain Forest’s unbeaten start to the season.

Both managers were sent off when Morgan Gibbs-White saw red for a feisty challenge on Joao Pedro.

Brighton v Forest Highlights

West Ham v Chelsea Highlights

Chelsea backed up their 1-0 at Bournemouth last weekend with an impressive 3-0 win at London rivals West Ham. The visitors took the lead in the third minute when Nicolas Jackson was played in by Jadon Sancho before calmly slotting past Alphonse Areola. More criminal defending from West Ham allowed the Senegalese, Jackson, to run through and double Chelsea’s lead before Cole Palmer sealed a convincing win in the second half for the visitors.

West Ham v Chelsea Highlights

Liverpool v Bournemouth Highlights

Liverpool bounced back from their surprise 1-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest last time out by beating Bournemouth by three goals to nil. The visitors played well in the first half but found themselves a goal down when Luis Dias took advantage of Kepa charging off his line to open the scoring for the Reds. The Colombian winger doubled the hosts’ lead just two minutes later, before Darwin Nunez sealed the victory with a spectacular left foot curling shot.

Liverpool take on Wolves at Molineux at 5:30pm next Saturday, whilst the Cherries host Southampton in a south coast derby on Monday Night Football. Book your booth at TOCA Social.

Liverpool v Bournemouth Highlights

Spurs v Brentford Highlights

Bryan Mbeumo gave Brentford an early lead at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with a powerful left foot volley with only 22 seconds on the clock! However, Spurs were quickly level with Dominic Solanke scoring his first for the club when James Maddison’s effort was rebounded by Mark Flekken. Brennan Johnson gave the hosts the lead with a right foot shot drilled into the bottom corner before Maddison dinked over Flekken late on to seal the victory for Spurs.

Spurs v Brentford Highlights

Aston Villa v Wolves Highlights

Aston Villa came from behind against Wolves to win an epic Midlands derby at Villa Park. Matheus Cunha, gifted the ball by Diego Carlos, gave the visitors the lead by drilling low past goalkeeper Emi Martinez and sending the travelling support wild. However, Villa’s pressure told with Ollie Watkins played through and equalising in the 73rd minute. Ezri Konsa arrived at the back post and gave Villa the lead late on before supersub Jhon Duran sealed the points.

Villa travel to Ipswich on Sunday at 2pm, with Wolves looking to bounce back against Liverpool at Saturday 5:30pm. For the best place to watch, book a booth today at TOCA Social.

Aston Villa v Wolves Highlights

Fulham v Newcastle Highlights

An impressive display from Fulham saw the hosts beat Newcastle by three goals to one at Craven Cottage. The hosts took the lead early on with Raúl Jiménez scoring his second in as many games with an excellent control and finish. Alex Iwobi and Emile Smith-Rowe linked up well before the latter slotted past Nick Pope to make it 2-0. Harvey Barnes responded for the visitors with a sweeping shot after the break, before Reiss Nelson put the game to bed in added time.

Newcastle host Man City at 12:30pm on Saturday. Don’t miss out! Watch the action at TOCA Social.

Fulham v Newcastle Highlights

Crystal Palace v Man United Highlights

Crystal Palace held Manchester United to a 0-0 draw at Selhurst Park, with both goalkeepers producing heroics. The visitors would have been of sight by half time if it wasn’t for Dean Henderson. Palace’s keeper denied Garnacho and De Ligt, before the Argentine and Bruno Fernades both hit the bar. Andre Onana produced an impressive double save to deny Eddie Nketiah and Ismaila Sarr. Eberechi Eze should have won it for Palace but shot wide.

Man United host Tottenham at 4:30pm this Sunday. Book your private booth now at TOCA Social.

Crystal Palace v Man United Highlights

Leicester v Everton Highlights

Everton claimed their first point of the season in atrocious conditions which saw the match delayed at half time due to thunder and lightning. The visitors took the lead when new signing Iliman Ndiaye cut inside and struck past Mads Hermansen into the bottom left corner. Dominic Calvert-Lewin had a chance to double Everton’s lead but was denied by the Foxes keeper. It was to be proved costly as Stephy Mavididi popped up to earn Leicester a point.

Leicester v Everton Highlights

Southampton v Ipswich Highlights

Ipswich captain Sam Morsy earned Ipswich a dramatic last minute point against fellow newcomers Southampton at St Mary’s. The Saints got off to a good start with academy graduate Tyler Dibling scoring his first goal for the club when played through by Adam Lallana. Both sides had chances but it was the Tractor Boys who struck lucky. Leif Davis’ corner came out to Sam Morsy, whose deflected volley flew past Muric into the Southampton net.

Ipswich host Aston Villa on Sunday, with Saints playing Bournemouth on Monday evening. Book now!
