Premier League Highlights Gameweek 6
The sixth week of Premier League action did not disappoint! We saw Cole Palmer score a sensational quadruple in the first half against Brighton, whilst Man City dropped points at Newcastle. Man United were slaughtered by Spurs at Old Trafford, whilst Arsenal left it very late to beat Leicester. Brentford scored again in the first minute, with Everton claiming their first win of the season. And it’s still not over! Bournemouth face Southampton on Monday evening. Man United v Spurs Highlights
Manchester United were humbled by Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford, leaving United boss Erik Ten Hag under serious pressure. The visitors took the lead when Brennan Johnson slotted home after a tremendous run from Micky Van Der Ven. Bruno Fernandes was harshly sent off on the stroke of half time for a challenge on James Maddison, with replays showing he slipped. Spurs took control in the second half and doubled their lead through Dejan Kulusevski. United were done long before Dominic Solanke added a late goal to seal the win.
United face Aston Villa on Sunday at 2pm, with Spurs taking on Brighton at 4:30pm. Book a booth today!
Newcastle v Man City Highlights
Manchester City dropped points for the second week running as Newcastle held them to a draw at St James’ Park. City took the lead in the 35th minute when Josko Gvardiol linked up well with Jack Grealish down the left before firing low past keeper Nick Pope. Around the hour mark Anthony Gordon went through on goal and was brought down by Ederson before converting the resulting penalty to level up the scores. City pushed with Phil Foden and Bernado Silva both coming close but Newcastle held firm for a solid point against the Champions.

Arsenal v Leicester Highlights
Arsenal left it late to find a winner against a stubborn Leicester side at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday. The hosts took the lead when Gabriel Martinelli swept home and doubled the scoreline on the stroke of half time through Leandro Trossard. However, Leicester full back James Justin headed home and then scored a screamer to level the score at 2-2. Arsenal were shell shocked but pushed for a winner and despite the best attempts of Mads Hermansen in the Foxes goal it came through an Ndidi own goal before Havertz sealed the win.

Wolves v Liverpool Highlights
Liverpool went top of the Premier League thanks to a hard fought win against Wolves at Molineux. The Reds looked below par in the first half but took the lead from an Ibrahima Konaté header. However, in the second half the French centre back failed to deal with Jorgen Strand Larsen which resulted in Wolves’ equaliser from left back Rayan Aït-Nouri. Liverpool won the game five minutes later through a Mo Salah penalty after Diogo Jota was fouled.

Chelsea v Brighton Highlights
Cole Palmer scored a sensational first half quadruple as Chelsea beat Brighton 4-2 at Stamford Bridge. Georgino Rutter gave Brighton the lead before Chelsea’s talisman took over the show. The former City man converted from a Nicolas Jackson pass, netting yet another penalty, and then scored a stunning freekick to give Chelsea a 3-1 lead. However, an error from Robert Sánchez gifted Carlos Baleba a goal back for Brighton before Palmer rocketed in a fourth from a Jadon Sancho pass to cap an impressive first half win for the hosts.

Ipswich v Aston Villa Highlights
Ipswich earned their fourth Premier League draw in a row after coming back from behind to draw against Aston Villa. The Tractor Boys took the lead early on when Liam Delap got on the end of Jack Clark cross. However, Villa turned the game around and equalised through Morgan Rogers who was teed up by Ollie Watkins. It was Watkins who scored a header to give Villa the lead but Liam Delap beat the Villa defence and shot low across goal to rescue a point.

Everton v Crystal Palace Highlights
Everton claimed their first win of the season after a Dwight McNeil double sank Crystal Palace. The Eagles took the lead when Marc Guehi poked home from a Maxence Lacroix cross. However, after the break the Toffees looked a different side. Dwight McNeil hit a stunning strike from range to level the scores up. The former Burnley man struck seven minutes later when he got on the end of a Jack Harrison cross to give Everton a vital home victory.

Nottingham Forest v Fulham Highlights
Forest’s unbeaten start to the season ended as Marco Silva’s Fulham won at the City Ground by a goal to nil. The hosts thought they had taken the lead in the 25th minute when a Chris Wood header appeared to sneak across the line. However, VAR ruled it out for a marginal offside. Fulham looked stronger after the break and took the lead from a Raúl Jiménez penalty after Andreas Perreira was tripped. Forest pushed but Fulham grinded out an away win.
Brentford v West Ham Highlights
Bryan Mbeumo scored within one minute for the second week running to give Brentford an early lead against West Ham. That’s the third game in a row where the Bees have scored within 60 seconds. The visitors equalised early in the second half when Michail Antonio’s scuffed effort found its way into the path of Tomáš Souček who bundled the ball past Mark Flekken. The hosts had a couple of penalty shouts but referee Simon Hooper waved them away.

Bournemouth v Southampton
Monday Night Football sees Bournemouth take on Bournemouth in a South Coast Derby at the Vitality. The hosts will be looking to bounce back from successive defeats against Liverpool and Chelsea, whilst Russell Martin’s Southampton side will be looking for their first win of the season. Southampton were unfortunate not to get all three points against Ipswich last week. The Saints were ahead until deep into stopping time when Sam Morsy salvaged a point.
